The best cover letter for a publishing house is its catalogue. It represents its identity, its concerns and the trace of its transformation in time. If we are what we publish, what does it mean to say "I read independent publications"?
The first meeting point with readers are the contents of the books, their stories and realities. Reading independent publications means reading the most common meeting points of the catalog of independent publishers in our country.
The six events of Leo Independiente 2023 are a proposal to present ourselves from our thematic contents. We are independent, we are Colombia, Latin America, translations, publishing, illustrated rescues, and child and youth literature and, finally, we are what we publish.

Qualification. This has been one of the constant calls to the proofreaders and, beyond the linguistic, encyclopedic, publishing aspects or use of computer tools, today we are called to think about operational competences (brand management or limits of textual work), non-sexist language use or even the limits between artificial intelligence and proofreading. Hence, in this Fourth National Encounter of Proofreaders «Being open to evolve», we seek to fill these gaps.
