What is the Fellowship Program?
For 2025, the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo) will be held from April 25 to May 11, with Spain as the guest of honor.
The Fellowship Program is part of FILBo’s Professional Days under the Business category. In this context, the Colombian Book Chamber and Corferias invite international publishing stakeholders to participate as fellows. These fellows are encouraged to visit the International Business Show to establish long-term business relationships with their Colombian counterparts, with the goal of promoting the Colombian and Latin American publishing industry abroad.
Benefits of the Fellowship Program
The program covers the cost of round-trip airfare (economy class) and three nights of hotel accommodations during the first days of FILBo, which includes the International Business Show (April 28-29, 2025, at the Corferias Hilton Hotel). Therefore, beneficiaries must be available in the mornings to attend the International Business Show and in the afternoons for participating in networking activities with Colombian publishing stakeholders. Additionally, they must be willing to participate in virtual meetings prior to FILBo to introduce their profiles and interests, as well as engage in other relevant activities organized by FILBo (e.g., preparatory talks, etc.).
Who can participate?
This program is aimed at international publishing stakeholders such as commercial managers, editorial directors, editors, and literary scouts interested in establishing business relationships with national and international exhibitors and visitors at FILBo 2025.
Fellowship participants must have a proven track record in the publishing industry, specialized knowledge in the Spanish-language rights market, a catalog that includes Colombian or Latin American literature (fiction, nonfiction, children·s and young adult literature, etc.), and be proficient in Spanish (preferred).
